Water damage process from beginning to end

9/25/2020 (Permalink)

You, the insured/customer, can help prevent water damage from becoming worse. The moment you call us, SERVPRO of San Mateo, our receptionist will gather the information listed below so we can have one of our highly trained crews head over to your property.

*Full name

*Who will be the point of contact

*Property address

*Do you have your insurance information (Claim Number and adjuster information)

*How did it happen?

*Is there standing water? How much?

*How many rooms are affected?

During our initial inspections, our lead technicians will help assess the damage. This means they will use moisture meters or infrared cameras to detect how far the water traveled and what materials are affected. Once they have gone ahead and detected the affected areas they will mark those areas with blue painters tape. After the affected rooms and materials are marked they move on to photo-document each room. Lastly, they will do a walk-through with you of the findings, have paperwork signed, and a detailed inspection report written so the project manager can review.

Within the inspection report, you have a copy of the assessment, and a detailed portion of what our technicians found. A scope and recommendations report will let you know what work we SERVPRO of San Mateo recommend needs to be done.

Faster to Any Size Emergency

When the worst does happen, though, we're ready for it. We maintain a 24-hour emergency response, and removal team available weekends and holidays. Our professional crews are ready to begin removing water within minutes after arriving at your property and determining both the fastest and least damaging option.

Once the water has been eliminated, our crews will begin the drying and dehumidification process. We maintain a series of high-speed fans that increase airflow over carpets and furniture to prevent water damage by increasing evaporation. Our commercial-grade dehumidifiers draw the moisture from floors and walls to prevent the warping of floorboards and rot of drywall.
